I just finished reading Dave Zirin's What's My Name, Fool?. Very insightful writing about sports, protest & politics from a Mac '96 lad. Getting a blurb from Chuck D does a lot to make me forget the chicken-leg-in-the-pocket episode.
His newsletter tipped me off to Wizards forward Etan Thomas's new column on Slam: http://slamonline.com/online/2006/11/type-casting/. It provokes a very animated debate about racism, classism and ismism. Worth checking out, so long as you can handle the indifferent spelling, logic and grammar of most commenters.

Jeez, I wish all of these nonwhitey groups would just get over this whole racism thing. I think we can all agree that its getting pretty old.
How about starting up racism versus the Irish again? Like the good old days?
What was I laughing about again? Oh yes, that crippled Irishman!!!
Not to mention the Catholics. Similar to the Irish, but I always think that its wise to think expansively on such matters. Everyone knows that there just a fifth column who irrationally swear allegiance to the Pope. And speaking of fifth columns, how 'bout the Jews? They've been living off this whole Holocaust thing for quite a while.
