Both miwacar and myself are Twins fans, so you will pardon us both if we seem to spend an inordinate amount of time talking about Liriano and Boof Bonser and the rest. We're desperately looking for good news, you see. Something to say that while the Twins can't control what happens to the White Sox (believe me, if we could, you would have seen at least one homosexual murder-suicide pact in their starting rotation) they can only play really, really well for the rest of the season and hope for the best.
So Francisco Liriano was back on the mound yesterday, against the Ambiguous Location Angels and was once again dominant. Six innings, one bogus hit, and only Vlad Guerrero managed a ball to the outfield.
Liriano's ERA as a starter (admittedly, only 3 games) is now 0.56. For a rookie pitcher to be throwing this well is something special. How about a little national love for the youngster?
