Hugs to Liz Kelly at the Washington Post for digging up one of the seminal commercials of my childhood, for the Jhoon Rhee Tae kwon Do school. It is a brilliant ad--and if you don't imitate the kid at the end (Jhoon's son, Chun*) then you are a better person than I am. And that seems unlikely, because let's face it, you are not a very good person.
Thank you Liz, thank you thank you thank you.

You got me all excited but I can't get the video to work.
If I had a dollar for everytime my sister and I acted out that commercial...
I can't get the video to work either but it doesn't matter. I have every frame of that commercial committed to memory.
If you take Jhoon Rhee self defense,
then you too can say ...
nobody bodder me!
nobody bodder me!
Kids: "Nobody bodder me."
"Nobody bodder me, needer!" (wink).
I thought I was the only one ...
I know chato/barnyard had no problems earlier tonight, so I'll look into it. Perhaps youtube was down for a bit.
yep. seems fine now.
Seminal indeed. Can you find the Belmont TV ad with the dude with the funny (read: MD) accent and the hefty mustache??
"Whatever you want, it's Belmont"
Or the Theatervision ad with Mark May and Joe Jacoby? The best was in '84 after they lost to the Raiders and instead of shooting a new ad they just cut "World Champion" from Jacoby's line. But they did a poor job cutting it. If you can find that I'd hug you. Tightly.

I did actually go looking for that one, but I couldn't remember the product. Perhaps that will help.
I loved that ad.
Here is the Belmont Ad
