Even Sportscenter was running this video, so its entirely possible that you've seen it already. But if you haven't, and you've played any soccer in your life, prepare to wince a bit. I'm shocked that this doesn't happen more often, frankly. Getting a kick right in the head is in fact exceedingly rare--I've seen a boatload of close calls. But this is pretty much straight on. Clearly an accident--Abou Diaby certainly doesn't look to be trying to do anything but a clear a dangerous ball out of his zone. But scary. John Terry is OK, reportedly. He says he doesn't remember the kick, which is hardly shocking.
Our friends at Sanford Soccer Net showed me the way to the Youtube vid. Chelsea did go on to win this thing. Sanford's got the video of the goals (and the brawl).

My head was once only saved by the soccer ball (face ball foot all at once). The impact had enough force to imprint the seams and printing from the ball to my face. B-R and part of I from my own Brine ball I wore proudly for the rest of the match. I maintained conscienceness because I have functioned most of my life without the use of my brain.
i dont think thats one of those injuries the guys can fix with their magic spray
lbutler, you are correct. For magic spray to work, you have to be conscious.
i hate the magic spray and the eurotrash that used it as acureall after diving
this was the scene i was treated to when i opened my browser to watch the game. i thought osama bin laden had come out of hiding to waylay a chelsea guy. after i saw the replay i was almost sick. that was "you got knocked the fuck out" territory.
