the Oakland Raiders select Jamarcus Russell; QB LSU....
This year's draft includes a few studly picks that in some other years might be worthy #1 picks. Oaktown obviously doesn't need another stud left tackle, so there's no reason to take the Wisconsin tackle Joe Thomas.
Though as a Raider fan, I wouldn't be at all upset if they go with Calvin Johnson, the freaky stud Wide Out from Ga Tech. Even if it means that this might deprive Matt Millen of the opportunity to select his fourth top ten WR in the last five years.

A new head coach and a rookie QB, I love it.
If the Raiders were a food, they would be a shit sandwich.
I heard the Raiders were trying to get Tony Mandarich and Todd Marinovich out of retirement, and to be tutors for the troubled youth of the Raiders franchise.

Rob Ryan is already the de facto head coach, and might I say, already a better defensive coordinator than the colostomy bag holder that is in charge of coaching 'Head Coach' Gibbs. Anyway, any rookie qb in an actual pro system will be a vast improvement over what has been the case this year. Care to make an unfriendly bet as to which team has the better record next year (even if the Redskins are in a terrible division, in a terrible conference)? I don't think Snyder can be enough filler to obscure the irrelevant bag-o-shit that is J. Gibbs at this point.
Is Gallery really a stud? I like the Raiders in this wager.
To paraphrase the polka "Too Fat Polka"
You can have him, I don't want him, he's too fat for me.
Actually, the Tackle thing was a joke. Their line obviously sucks eggs, its just that I can't stomach the thought of taking another 'can't miss' white, Big Ten Lineman at the very top of the draft. Anyway, you could put Ogden, Pace, and Jones in this offense and they'd suck too..... Drop a terrible QB back to the same seven steps every play, and wait for a deep post to open up. Impossible. There's no doubt that they'll improve in an offense designed after the '60s.
