Kansas City vs. Indianpolis--If I were the Cincinnati Bengals, I think I would sue the NFL for allowing a "playoff game" to exist that included teams called the NY Giants or the Dallas Cowboys or the Seattle Seahawks. Cincinnati should be in the playoffs, and they aren't. Somehow, rather average Kansas City did make it in. And considering that they knew they would have to play on the road, against a team that it is great at home, this is not a bad match-up for them. The Colts are awful, awful, wow, just really really awful against the run, and the Chiefs have Larry fucking Johnson. But really, the Chiefs don't have that typical Herm Edwards defense yet either (the Jets do, though). I don't have the nuts to call the upset here, but I won't be shocked if Indy loses this game. But all the same, I think the Colts do win this one. Marvin Harrison and Joe Addai will have big games. So will Larry Johnson.
NJ Jets vs. Boston Patriots--Here I do have the nuts to call the upset. I'm taking the Jets. I think their defense stymies the Patriots fancy offense. It will be an ugly, ugly game, which is exactly the way that Man Genie likes it. Love-In-Your-Anus Coles will flummox the rather suspect Patriots secondary. Who else could game plan for Belichek and Brady but Mangini? If the Pats win this game, you may as well pencil them in for the AFC Championship. But I think the Jets, somehow, someway will win this game. It should be noted that the Jets have won more games on the road than the Patriots have won at home, and given the proximity of the cities involved, this is barely a home game for the Pats. Look to Mike Nugent to get a a little Cat-Scratch Fever, and maybe win this game in the final moments. I say the Jets win this game, and then get destroyed in the next round.
Go ahead and place your wagers now. I'm never wrong. Except when I am.

I think the real drama is, who wins the fist fight that breaks out between the two head coaches. Don't those two hate each other?
Since when does Herm 'fringin' Edwards get to have a typical Herm Edwards defense? He's a mediocre (at best) head coach who specializes in running RBs into the ground by running the ball until they're dead. The fact that LJ is a keeper on my fantasy team and that Herm "we play to end RBs carreer's" Edwards is trying to undermine my fantasy aspirations has nothing to do with my feelings on this matter.
And there's no feeling sorry for Cincy. They had that game, and gave it away. Pitt lost to Oakland for Christ's sake.
Agreeing with Juicy No-wood always feels wrong, but as I listen to Soundgarden here in 2007 (Louder than Love, if you're curious) I concur with Herr Norwood. The Bengals will have a long off-season, having dropped too many close games. Yes they had a hard schedule, but they had to beat their downtrodden rival in their home stadium to make the playoffs. They failed. How about a defense next year?
I'm going to disagree 100%. If Ron Dayne and the mighty Texans can run all over the Colts and win, LJ is going to crush them. I say 4 TDs for LJ and Manning will not be able to keep up. KC pulls away in the second half and again Manning and Dungy head home before the bowl. The Jets and Pats split the season games, but I think the play-off savy Brady will find a way to win - and it will be Reche Caldwell in the end zone in the 4th quarter. Caldwell is ready to step up.
Well-stated opposition Muumuuman. I hadn't really considered this matchups and I shall ... don't you worry. Jets over Pats at home twice in one year? Mangenius? The student snatches the cricket from the palm of the master?
If the Redskins played as hard as the Jets they would have won the Superbowl. Also, Brunnell ...
