Brian Wood Stumbles Onto Fascinating Trend

The nerdier of us here at IDYFT do truly enjoy Brian Wood's work on such comic book awesomeness as DMZ and Northlanders. He, whilst dicking around this morning, unearthed a fascinating trend on the internets: "there are a lot of amateur covers of Neutral Milk Hotel’s 'Holland 1945', and they are almost exclusively performed by weird, but utterly passionate young women. Some are good, some aren’t, but all of them are totally compelling. Viewed together they become, I dunno, more than the sum of their parts." God bless you, Brian Wood, and thank you, too, Internets.

It is fascinating. I'm figuring out my favorite. I think I'm leaning towards the one below. The effort (multi-tracking!) and the oddly self-assured stylings of the lady in question makes me dig it. Plus, ukulele!
